No way, and I couldn&#8217;t resist this one. I know ice pops in the dead of winter might seem a bit much, but remember I am in Southern California, and we do not do winter. And the fact remains blood oranges are seasonal. So if an ice pop in March is too much for you, buy the blood oranges now, juice them and freeze the juice. In summer your family and guests will thank you.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>These do not freeze &#8220;hard as ice.&#8221; I suggest wrapping the pops in plastic or food safe cellophane bags immediately after you&#8217;ve removed them from the molds and returning them to the freezer for about a half hour, or longer if you are not going to consume them straight away.<\/p>\n<p><br class=\"spacer_\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"thickbox\" rel=\"5440\" href=\"https:\/\/adribarrcrocetti.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/BloodOrangeSolernoIcePops-640x422-4602_1110.jpg\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/adribarrcrocetti.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/BloodOrangeSolernoIcePops-640x422-4602_1110.jpg\" alt=\"Blood Orange Solerno Ice Pops\" width=\"640\" height=\"422\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5437\" srcset=\"https:\/\/adribarrcrocetti.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/BloodOrangeSolernoIcePops-640x422-4602_1110.jpg 640w, https:\/\/adribarrcrocetti.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/BloodOrangeSolernoIcePops-640x422-4602_1110-300x197.jpg 300w, https:\/\/adribarrcrocetti.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/BloodOrangeSolernoIcePops-640x422-4602_1110-500x329.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><br class=\"spacer_\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Blood Orange and Solerno Ice pops<\/em><\/h4>\n<p><br class=\"spacer_\" \/><\/p>\n<h6>makes about 10 ice pops, 2 \u00bd fluid ounces each<\/h6>\n<p>1 cup granulated sugar<br \/>\n1\/2 cup water<br \/>\n2 cups blood orange juice<br \/>\n1\/4 cup Solerno blood orange liqueur*<br \/>\n1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice<\/p>\n<p><em>Make simple syrup:<\/em><br \/>\nCombine granulated sugar and water in small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, swirling pan occasionally to dissolve sugar. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat and cool. Cover and chill.<\/p>\n<p>Juice oranges and combine with \u00bd cup simple syrup, Solerno and lemon juice. Check for sweetness, adding more simple syrup if necessary. Pour into pop molds. Insert sticks, and freeze 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>To remove ice pops from molds, dip mold very briefly in hot water or dampen towels with hot water and wrap towels around individual mold compartments. Wrap in plastic or cellophane and return to freezer briefly to refreeze.<\/p>\n<p>* To learn more about <em>Solerno<\/em> click <a href=\"https:\/\/adribarrcrocetti.com\/main\/2011\/09\/05\/solerno-sicilian-blood-orange-liqueur\/\" title=\"Solerno\" target=\"_blank\">HERE<\/a><br \/>\n  If you want alcohol-free pops, increase the amount of juice to 2 1\/4 cups.
